Mother's Day

Mother’s Day. B. came down for a few hours. Gifts: DVDs of Kiki’s Delivery Service (Miyazaki), SyFy Alice, the complete Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., and Lantern Hill; roses. Brief visit with my mom. Lively game of Aggravation, then a family walk. TV: two of D’s Nick shows, Doctor Who (go Liz 10!), and the Brisco pilot. Thunderstorm. Dinner: Sweet Basil Thai. Nap. Mary Russell. Very fine day.

Other details:

I really wanted to get to watch Brisco again, and it was definitely great fun to do so. Yay!

My mom was using full sentences today, including one that was fairly sophisticated in terms of syntax.

Right after the thunderstorm, we planted bachelor’s button and snapdragon seeds. I hope they do better than the swiss chard and shirley poppy seeds.

I don’t have The God of Hives yet but am reading The Language of Bees for the third time, in preparation.

I am very full with delicious Thai food. My favorite is the beef, romaine, onion, and vinaigrette salad.
