Expedience!

The only thing holding up my supporting area paper at this point is coding the qualitative data so I can run the final analyses. My approved analytic plan calls for two coders, but I don't want to pay anybody, not when I'm also having to pay an extra $2500 in tuition (thanks, University).

So I was thinking, hey, I'll just code it myself and run the analyses. It probably wouldn't be publishable like that, but nothing precludes me later having a second coder and redoing the last analyses, for publication. But then my advisor volunteered an undergraduate to do the coding - good (because of the publishability issue), but bad (because everything ground to a halt 'til the guy could start). But today the guy flaked out. I think I'm going back to the expedience plan.
