I am wearing green today, in honor of John O'Hara and Jane Dysart, who left County Cavan for Canada in the early 1830s, and in honor of my O'Hara-born grandma, who remembers their only son, her grandfather, very well, and who considers herself Irish because of him. (John Jr. lived to be very old.)
And that's enough family history out of me for a while.
D's school is having a green-wearing contest today: one point per article of green clothing. The girls will have an advantage, as few boys his age own green socks. The class with the most points gets free popcorn on Friday.
