It's usually not all that inconvenient to be allergic to fragrance. Once you've found yourself sources for unscented shampoo, soaps, detergents, tissues, toilet paper, kitty litter, et cetera, you're usually fine, as long as you manage to keep from being stuck in a confined space with someone who uses mainstream products.

The real nuisance, though, is the scented condition of way too many books from the public library. University library books are almost always fine. Why is that? Do students really use that much less fragrance than members of the general public, or do individual pages of university books just get so very much less exposure to readers? Anyway, my current problem is my desire to read Elantris. Obviously today wasn't warm enough (around 50°F) for me to take it outside. I suppose I'll have to bite the bullet and read a chapter of this scented book, then buy a new copy if I like it enough to continue.
