"What Is Love?" philosophy conference, and some timely encouragement

Today was the "What Is Love?" conference, by our philosophy dept., with presentations by grad students and two professors, the famous Mark Johnson and the congenial feminist Bonnie Mann, and with a free focaccia lunch. This was fun! Mark is a very amusing speaker, and Bonnie's topic was great - the fascination of teenage girls with the Twilight vampire novels.

Meanwhile, I got back my advisor's comments on my draft on narrative and motivation. He wrote: "it's a very promising direction" - yay! I'm really excited that he likes it!
