Vacation reflections
Jan. 13th, 2009 10:44 pmEach of my movie/tv-watching vacations seems to end up featuring some surprisingly common motif. One year, we saw two different movies that featured a nefarious plot to dig a hole under the Bank of London. Another time, I think four or five movies had the characters declare their solidarity and resolve by stacking their hands together in that team spirit way.
This year, there were three such events! The fact that two shows had the mother's birthday as a vital, ultimate password was fairly minor. I have to say, though, that I didn't expect to watch three shows in which the human soul is an illuminated vapor that can be sucked out of (or restored into) a person's mouth, by another person's mouth positioned a few inches away. Then, two of these three shows also had a potential apocalypse linked to a magical beam extending from an earthbound altar all the way up to an eclipse! Indeed!

fractal9091 visits, and this time I succeeded pretty well in mentally disengaging from work. Now that he's gone home, though, I feel like I've neglected exercise and fruits and vegetables, so it's time to get back on track with that.
