Today I was a Naiad. I am still wearing my very dark blue, flowing dress, and I still have my dark blue and silver ribbons in my hair, but I took off the makeup.
As usual, this was a last-minute inspiration. I looked at the dress, decided it reminded me of the McKenzie River, and there it was. After going to the "serpentine" (costume procession) at D's school, I spent the rest of the afternoon buying ribbons, beaded wire, and dark blue eyeshadow, then threw the whole thing together. I wore it to pick D. up at school, then we stopped by my mom's then I took him to a three-hour Halloween party, which I joined for the hour of trick-or-treating at the end.
