Two mishaps and cat weirdness
Oct. 12th, 2008 09:03 pmD. didn't want to go to the nursery this morning because of his cold, but I insisted (I wanted to buy groceries without him), and it was too bad, because when they were there, Thor jumped up and bonked his face, giving him a messy nosebleed.
Then at lunch, fortunately he was at R's computer near the kitchen (watching Yu-Gi-Oh GX episodes online) when I got ready to sauté some chard in a little saucepan by putting some olive oil to heat on "high" then... wandering off to the other room, sitting down at my own computer and clicking on stuff. I say "fortunately" because D. noticed the flames before they left the saucepan. As it turns out, flour didn't douse them but sort of made them spread, but it wasn't that bad, really.
Meanwhile, Lillian has adopted a very bizarre hobby: She likes licking plastic surfaces. She especially adores licking my laptop, but I've also caught her licking a plastic sleeve around a book's dust jacket, a plastic bag from a store, and even part of the wooden frame of the bed (which is cherrywood, not plastic). I hope all of these things truly are chemically inert. Silly cat.
