Mushroom planet

On a whim, I got D. a library book that I remember from my own childhood, The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet. In the early 1950s, two young California boys build their own spaceship in response to an advertisement in their local paper, and then they have quite an adventure! D. is loving it.

He loved The Boggart and the Monster too (our last book), especially when I used Google Earth to show him photographs of the sites from the book: Loch Ness, Castle Urquhart, Port Appin, Loch Linnhe, and the Caledonian Canal.
