Last day of "summer"

D. and I had a nice afternoon, the last of his summer vacation. We went to the school open house and met his new teachers and the new classroom (it's really new; last year it belonged to the co-located school, which has now left). After that, we sorted all of his clothes to figure out which things still fit. Then we went to the pool, and even though it's the last week of the pool until next summer, we nearly had it to ourselves. It was 77° out, and the water felt really warm. I spent a long time just placidly treading water in the deep end, then we had fun playing catch.
