Today felt festive. The hillside forests were dusted with snow, and there was even snowy mush on the lawn in the morning, but no more of it fell.

After getting D. some books at the library, I walked around downtown looking at shops a while. I managed to leave the newly expanded downtown branch of Smith Family Books without buying anything; I didn't buy anything in Mrs. Thompson's either, as it was rather bare. (She's an apothecary who carries Celtic goods; I was hoping for a nice Gaelic children's dictionary like she's had in the past.) I also looked in several gallery windows and walked through the new Japanese Internment memorial. Later I went to Bi-Mart and got R. a new keyboard; I also added a new string of flashing lights to our picket fence, to D's delight.

In the evening, DH came over to help us finish off the Christmas leftovers (roast beef, herbed mashed potatoes, green beans with filberts, and slices of naan with filbert hummus). Then we played hearts, which B. won handily.

And now I'm going to read a Hume book while waiting for [livejournal.com profile] fractal9091, who has a cold, unfortunately.
