Brownbag done - yay
Oct. 17th, 2007 09:48 pmToday was the social/personality group brownbag practice for the FYP presentations (me and AT). There were 15 people, although not our advisor, who was out of town. It's a friendly and helpful group, so it wasn't stressful. I managed not to cough at all. I got some good advice on moving a few slides around. Oh, and I was just 13 seconds under the 15-minute target - though I did get suggestions on how to use up the "extra" time. Now I can more or less relax and focus on finishing the accompanying paper.
I rewarded myself for getting past this step with extra indulgence this evening: a whole bag of chips with salsa* to go with my Wednesday burrito, and then two full hours of television. One of the college students on Wheel of Fortune is majoring in Church Recreation. What?
(It's true, I looked it up. Baylor has a "Bachelor Degree in Recreation & Leisure Services, Church Emphasis." Students take courses in "principles of church recreation" and how to run a church-sponsored camp. Huh. I always thought church camps were run by people with recreation backgrounds who just happened to be members of the specified church.)

* This is a hypoglycemic equivalent of kicking back with a beer or a pint of ice cream.
