So today we watched Eragon, not expecting much from it and mostly screening it to decide if it's appropriate for D. I've never read the book(s?), and it was apparent that much may have been left out. Can anyone clue us in?

There really wasn't much to the movie. I spent the last half of it watching the terrain, mostly, wondering what country's wilderness we were looking at. My guess (Czech Republic) was pretty close - it was Hungary.
Now we're watching the College World Series. The Oregon State Beavers are leading 3-0 in the 5th inning (sorry, NC fans). People are pestering me about dinner.
Edit 5:48 p.m.: Whoa. I knew John Malkovich, Alun Armstrong, and of course Jeremy Irons, but wow, that was Robert Carlyle as the evil sorceror!
