Pollen countdown: 10 more days
Jun. 20th, 2007 09:09 pmAgain, my brain is like molasses, or maybe a pile of feathers, and the chance of an air-clearing rain in tomorrow's forecast has now been postponed 'til Sunday. I'm really looking forward to getting rid of the pollen, so I can get more work done. Today at lunch we had a paper production meeting; I mostly rocked myself comfortingly in my chair and nibbled at my sandwich, but I think my paper writing plans sounded coherent.
Then I took D. to Edgewood Pool before dinner. It's a private, smallish, neighborhood pool, which we belonged to years ago and rejoined last year in time for the week where the temperature hit 105. Today was our first visit this year. There were about 20 kids in the pool - a bit crowded, but so much better than Amazon Pool, which will pack in up to 2,000 of them at once. The water was really warm, too. And it was a relief to discover that even though I weigh nearly 50 lbs more than I did at 19, I still look pretty good in a bathing suit. (Yes, I was a stick at 19. No, I was not anorexic, by any stretch of the imagination. I have always been a fan of food.)
