Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be test pilots for the Wright Bros.

Today's lecture started with a 20-min history of early human flight, of all things, from the Montgolfiers (who had, in fact, been parodied on last night's Monty Python!) through the Wright Brothers (more of their experimental pilots died than survived, yikes!). I had never before considered how clinical research is like the development of the airplane, but there we have it.
