Elated!

1. Spring term started today. Our main required class is Issues. In fall, we had 5 weeks on cognitive and 5 weeks on neuroscience, for 5 credits. In winter, we had 5 weeks on developmental and 5 weeks on social, for 5 credits. Now we have clinical, and we were all completely surprised to learn that we're getting our 5 credits this time for... 5 weeks! That's right, even though spring term doesn't end 'til mid-June, as of May 3rd I will be free! I will regain control over my time and schedule! Yay!



2. Apparently I can apply again for the NSF fellowship! Our dept. has a grants specialist, and he says that since I will not actually "complete" more than 12 months of grad school 'til fall term is done in December, I can apply again in November! Also he says my 15 units of graduate credit that I had before I started the program don't matter. Yay!



3. I got a very encouraging response to my e-mail to Carol Dweck! I'll put it in a friends-locked post, to follow. (If you can't read that link, btw, it's because you aren't on my friends list. You lurkers are always welcome to create yourselves a blank LJ and join my friends list...)
