Should I keep reading Ricoeur this afternoon? Interesting but not immediately useful. Should I switch to Morano's Existential Guilt and see if I can sprint through it? Should I buckle down and work on my human subjects paperwork? Should I try to talk [livejournal.com profile] fractal9091 into some D2? Or should I just veg on the couch and watch UNC take down Georgetown?

Votes and advice will be accepted for the next 20 minutes, while I go take a shower. ;)

Update: Knitting practice, basketball, 10 pages of the second book.

D (age 6, watching the end of the Oregon game): Do the bosses of the players... uh...
L (me): The coaches?
D: Do the coaches have to cheer* for their own team?
L: Of course!
D: But what if they don't?
L: They have to, it's part of their job!
D: But what if they don't?
L: Then they'd get fired! It's an important part of their job!
D: They'd get FIRED?!? Just for that??? Weird!!!

Free Will: Victim of economic necessity?

* [livejournal.com profile] fractal9091 just pointed out a bit of household terminology that I took for granted but that wouldn't be clear to a reader (sorry!) - by "cheer for," D. doesn't mean acting like a cheerleader, he means favoring their side of the contest, wanting them to win. He's objecting to the fact that coaches can't switch team allegiances mid-game like he can.
