We are (probably recklessly) eking out another three days of winter break, over this MLK holiday weekend. This is his first winter visit to Eugene, and he's getting the extremes of our weather, just like he did last summer.
He arrived at 9:40 p.m. yesterday, after going to his morning class and then taking three flights (Greensboro to Chicago to Portland to Eugene). (It was much warmer in Chicago than here, by the way.) His first flight was delayed an hour and a half, and the Greensboro airport confiscated his "too large" (that is, standard-sized) tube of toothpaste in the name of homeland security, but the rest went okay.
We watched the second half of Clueless, bits of a really bad movie called Sugar & Spice (cheerleaders plan a bank heist), an anime episode called Vampire Princess Miyu 5, and the first half of an original Star Trek episode in which a supercomputer attempts to render Kirk obsolete. He also delighted Lillian with about three hours of the finger game and peek-a-boo.
