Looks like my day was rather Anglocentric
Apr. 8th, 2006 11:13 pmI mowed about a third of the lawn today (the section near the street), and I actually made it 'til nearly 6 p.m. before hitting the wall energy-wise, which I appreciated. The Narnia movie was okay; I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen a "making of" special that showed nearly everything. I did like Mr. Tumnus quite a lot. I also finished that Suspense and Sensibility book, which was... well... Okay, the thing is, at first it seemed quite in keeping with Pride and Prejudice, very much in line with what one could have expected to happen "next." Then she decided to introduce the Darcys to most of the characters from Sense and Sensibility, which struck me as presumptuous, yet I was still enjoying it until I found that she'd decided to rely on a supernatural gimmick for the main storyline, which really was a bit much. A real highlight of the day was the As Time Goes By reunion special, especially the first half. Judi Dench with Geoffrey Palmer, in characters they'd played for years -- very, very funny.
