Wishing a happy birthday

to DA -- enjoy yourself! As for me, my day will be filled with GRE prep and working on my paper. No fun Buffy party at E&P's house for me, alas. (The fact that it's nearly 3,000 miles away may have something to do with it.)

In Jon Carroll's column today, Kansas teachers should start teaching the ancient science of astrology. It's amusing, and one line reminded me of that essay I wrote last month on what I believe.

ETS exasperation

Trying to run the computerized practice GRE was quite frustrating -- apparently the good folks at ETS don't believe that some of us use smaller monitors, so the first page loads looking like this, and naturally one can go no further.

I wrote the first three pages of my paper on either/or thinking, though, and I read all the rest of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
