Worldviews class
Sep. 27th, 2005 09:39 pmI did attend that seminar today and will most likely sign up for it. It's called, "Belief, Culture, and Personality: Toward a Psychology of Worldviews" and is taught by Gerard Saucier, a UO prof who also has an appointment at ORI. His meaning of worldviews is essentially "suppositions about the real, the true, and the good." The reading list looks interesting, and the requirements look pretty easy for a graduate seminar: writing discussion questions about the readings, discussing the readings, and writing two one-page papers and a "big" paper that's only 10 pages as well. No exams. And there are only four of us! The others are TBB, whom I already knew, and MM and SS, new to me.
R. had one exciting opportunity open up yesterday and another today, so he's feeling much better about his career.
