Lakoff and the Democrats

Next, I'm going to post a NYT article in its entirety -- it's about George Lakoff and the Democratic Party. I've been a big fan of Lakoff and his UO colleage Mark Johnson since I read their Metaphors We Live By -- six years ago, was it? oh dear, time flies -- and realized I'd finally found the conceptual tools I needed for my big writing project on the environmental movement. (But I am So Slow. This is not good.)

Meanwhile, I'm going a bit wild over summer fruit. Peaches, nectarines, and raspberries, mostly. Yum.
