Apr. 11th, 2005 09:28 pmMy car, which had refused to start yesterday, acquired a new battery and had other attentions lavished on it today. The courtesy shuttle was one of those Toyota hybrids, and I kind of flustered the driver by asking technical questions about it. I guess having worked with the electric vehicle program at the Electric Power Research Institute for seven years has its downside. (However, I'm not so interested in the question of what kind of battery it has to have bothered looking it up for myself!) When D. and I went back for my car at 5 p.m., a strong breeze kept bringing us big whiffs of fresh tortillas from the tortilla factory next door to the mechanics', which really was quite nice.
