Must...read...must...read...

I finally finished what seems to me like a reasonable draft of an abstract for the ASLE conference (more to come on that tomorrow or Tuesday), and then treated myself to the first pages of Climbing Brandon, by Chet Raymo. From the jacket: "An acclaimed science writer celebrates a living symbol of Ireland's Celtic past, Christian tradition, and love of nature." The author had a weekly science column in the Boston Globe for 20 years, and in this book, he looks at the surprising compatibility of empirical skepticism, Irish paganism, and Celtic Christianity, in the context of nature hikes on Mount Brandon. So far, delicious!
