A blustery finish to 2004
Dec. 31st, 2004 08:40 pmThings were pretty blustery outside this morning, gusts of wind and random wild droplets of rain. Every time I stepped outside, the winds were sighing in the douglas-firs across the street. It would have been fun to go on a walk in the woods, but I was too busy and/or slow and then it was time to go fetch D. During his nap, the winds pelted rain against the windows, making it so delicious to be inside. By the time I finally could go for a walk, after dinner, it was just straight rain.
After D's nap, we watched Aladdin. It's interesting to watch that while paying most attention to the colors. Nearly all the movie is contrasts of red/gold with midnight blues; green appears very infrequently but is in there.
Although I'm always up 'til midnight, it looks like this year's "celebration" for me will just be reading the new issue of Utne Reader. Alas, the New Year's party I was technically invited to is on the other side of the country. R. did just urge me and Robin to celebrate the new year in style, but not many ideas for that are coming to mind...
