I love the sounds of rain -- the gusts of drops against the window, the little pattering on leaves that sounds like scurrying animals, all that clean, fresh water coming back to the earth. My fantasy is to have a rain porch with a really comfortable chair on it, so I can sit outside all cozy with blankets and experience the winds and listen to the rain. Coziness is the very best.
We truly did have our manuscript meeting today, and I managed to produce last-minute handouts, so that I'd made progress on all three of my main papers. Bryan came over for his "farewell" evening with us (he's moving to Portland on Thursday), and we had Thai food. Always his favorite -- I think because he got so much of it prenatally. He'll be back for Christmas, of course.
