Finally!

I finally met my (self-assigned) big work goal for the summer, handing out a new draft of my "methods paper," which currently is called "Using item response theory as a "transdimensional" approach to assessing tobacco dependence." It's not much of a draft, in that it's still a hybrid between draft and outline, but it's useful to hand it out so that the coauthors can see how I've reconceptualized it, and give feedback, and suggest where to cut the whole big lit review section that I wrote. So now I can stop thinking about this one for three weeks. It feels good to work on my papers again, considering all the admin I've been doing for our ChewFree website.

We had a colloquium today about the "information architecture" of websites, which was pleasantly presented but not new material by any means. And that big grant got mailed, and we'll hear about it in three weeks instead of the usual 6-9 months.

Now I'm reading The Death of Chaos, the fifth Recluce book, and the first in the series that I haven't read before. Also, I would like to know how Boise State gets away with having a blue football field. That has got to be disorienting for visiting teams!
