A bit of a theme here...

Third post mentioning Bridget J. in three days. Today I finished the book and thought it would be worthwhile for R. to see the movie, since he hadn't yet and there wasn't another good early evening movie on TV. Very early on, we both thought the woman who played Bridget's friend Jude (crying in a bathroom) sounded very much like Moaning Myrtle (likewise crying in a bathroom, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), but R. was the first of us to voice the daring hypothesis that it could actually be the same actress. It was! Moaning Myrtle was played by a 35-year-old woman! And what a funny bit of type-casting. "Must excel at crying in bathrooms."

J's class reunion has been rescheduled to the very week that we were hoping he could make his annual visit, one of only two feasible weeks this summer for him to come out here. The other week is now less than a month away and impractical. Bleh. Peculiarly, the reunion is scheduled to consist only of two hours in a wine bar with karaoke and a pool table.
