Day 857: Weird loot

Between Covid, and now monkeypox, and last year's gun violence, I really haven't had any interest in attending this year's county fair, which is this week. D&S went today, though. D. assured me that they now have security measures, where everything you bring in has to be inside a clear plastic bag, so I wasn't as worried as I might have been.
And then, well before dark, they returned home. And they were carrying weird stuff! They had played whack-a-mole and apparently did well at it. The strangest item was a rather large plush toy, about two feet long. The top half was a normal-colored plush pug dog, and the bottom half was a shiny, glittery, mermaid tail. D said it was going straight into his closet. Meanwhile, S was carrying two things. One was a plush toilet paper roll, rather larger than a human head, but she's going to convert it into a ghost or a giant marshmallow, maybe. The other was a much smaller plush pug dog with a purple body, and its nose, eyes, and unicorn horn (??) were all attached asymmetrically.
Times have changed!
