A miniature flood!

Paraphrasing my Facebook post on the topic:
The good news: I already had a plumber scheduled to visit this afternoon, and it's a sunny day so the 25 boxes of stuff I had to carry out of my garage had dry places to spend the afternoon.
The bad news: Leaking water heaters have to be replaced, and that's expensive!
The rest of the good news: They came two hours earlier than I was expecting them, and finished everything with ample time for me to take a nice hot shower before going to the donor appreciation dinner for the youth orchestras (which was an absolutely lovely event, with delicious food with an Eastern Mediterranean theme). After that I went to visit J. playing Magic, and finally around 10 p.m. I put everything back in the garage, by the light of my car headlights.
Also it's good that my water heater is in the garage. I was talking to someone tonight and he told me about buying a house in Florida that had the water heater in the attic!
