This afternoon, as soon as I went into the neighborhood supermarket, I ran into the mom of one of D's friends, and we stood there for 20 minutes talking about books she might like, the upcoming SAT, and whether her son needs to improve his GPA for a UO scholarship. I hope people could navigate around us. Soon after that, I ran into the dad of another of D's friends, and we spent 10 minutes in the detergent aisle discussing the oboe. Again, I hope people could get past us...
