The mysterious “Caribbean”

This afternoon, I watched the Miss Marple episode called, “A Caribbean Mystery.” I would have watched it sooner if I’d realized that Charity Wakefield had a main role – she’s the actress who played my favorite Marianne Dashwood, and I hadn’t seen her in any of her other many roles.
Anyway. The really interesting role, I thought, was that of South Africa, portraying the Caribbean island of “St. Honoré.” I mean, it should have been easy enough to fly the actors to the Caribbean, had they wanted, but instead they went to South Africa. Perhaps that’s because South Africa is at least as beautiful and an easier place for reserving a filming location? It was altogether lovely.
