Unsettling fiction

This evening I read an entire book by Nina Hoffman, one of her YA novels. I’d previously only read two of her children’s novels. This one was so disorienting and unsettling that I ended up resolving to read it all in one sitting, so that I wouldn’t have to spend mental time suspended in that world when not reading. Now that I’ve finished it, it seems like an interesting book...

Hot summer weather isn’t the greatest while I’m being mildly sick. I’m much less tolerant of it than usual.
