Day 935: Clear skies!

Late last night, the smoke blew away, and today we were all appreciative. I drove downtown for my library errand, enjoying the fall colors. I went out again a bit later, to the post office, where I sent off what I hope is the last bit of my mom's estate. I then tried to mow, but the battery had lost its charge. It doesn't take all that long to recharge, really, but by the time it did, it was dark out, so I mowed a bit by the light of J's front porch.

I have to set aside my main writing project for a bit, in favor of a grant proposal. It seems quite unlikely that the work will get funded - when we had a pretty good score for an earlier version of the same thing, they could have funded us but didn't - but I still have to do it. I'll probably give up after this round, though, unless the score is VERY encouraging. Maybe I can get it written super-fast so I can get back to what I want to be doing!

Wouldn't that be wonderful if you got the grant. I hope it is a speedy process, if that can be associated with grant applications!

You have a battery powered mower?

Sounds handy! We have a petrol powered mower which is superb. We used to have a corded electric one, which was fine, but the long cords are annoying.
