Day 985: Wednesday evening
Wow, only 20 minutes left until December!
J. spent the evening off playing Magic with DG and NJ at a game store in northern Springfield, followed by dinner at Shari's pie shop, and I was left with plenty of time to get things done. Today's task was to verify some quotations by Mao Zedong, and when I couldn't find the ones in our files, I looked up some similar things to use instead. Then I went out to see if Albertsons has any Campbell's split pea soup for J. The answer is: No, but unlike our neighborhood Safeway, at least there was a designated empty space on the shelf for it. I also looked at the menu for the new Mexican brewery near the Albertsons - a short walk away in the dark and damp night - and now I'm hoping we can eat there soon. Then I came home and organized the Mao materials in with the rest of my file and played a round of Storybook Brawl, then came to J's house to read until his arrival, which was a few minutes ago.
And that's what a late November evening is like for me these days.
