Day 962: Technology complaint

So, the powers that be have concluded that everyone wants a thin laptop, so laptops can no longer have CD drives. What a pain. Many of us own several hundred music CDs, not to mention DVDs. I found a website (here) that claims to be a current list of laptops that do have CD drives, but if you click on the link, you can easily see that... none of them has a CD drive. I went to Office Max to buy an external one, but no. Eventually I ordered one online.

One nifty thing today was that it turns out J. has a tire pump that's powered by the car's electrical system. No more doing it at the gas station! That was always such a pain.

At least you can get external ones. I can't remember when I last used the one in my PC - maybe 4 or 5 years ago. I ripped all my CDs to MP3 many years ago, and download movies now, so I don't need my DVDs.

That is fascinating about the tire pump! I have never heard of such a thing.

I hate that computers and laptops do not have CD drives, sigh.

I think they took them away because they want people to buy more music, sigh.

I love having CD players in each of our cars.
