It's happened
Today, D's clarinet teacher brought one of her cats to the studio with her, for the afternoon's lessons, as he'd just left the vet and her own house is on the far side of Springfield. She got him out of the carrier and brought him over for me to hold - he's a 17-year-old mellow and very soft orange tabby named Darius.
Me: "Darius! You're named for a Persian emperor, and you're not a Persian cat!"
Me: ...
Yes, it's happened. I have become my mother.
Me: "Darius! You're named for a Persian emperor, and you're not a Persian cat!"
