Feeling eclectic

I now have four categories of “assigned” reading.
  • For the youth orchestras, I was today given a book with the stultifying title of Fund Raising Realities Every Board Member Must Face.
  • More compelling is the small stack of books about Madrid and central Spain I'm browsing through for J’s trip.
  • And I have yet to start my new stack of reading about Alzheimer’s... (Did I mention it yet? I’m planning a new grant proposal for Alzheimer’s caregivers.)
  • And there’s the book club book, The Little Paris Bookshop, which I'm not a huge fan of yet, and I will be missing most or all of Tuesday’s meeting in favor of D’s school concert.
For pleasure, I'm rereading Ernst Haeckel’s A Visit to Ceylon, which is a joy for the descriptions of Sri Lanka, and not as bad as most other books from the same era (1883) for how he deals with indigenous people, though they’re always not-so-great.

Added: Oops! Also need to read Entangled Empathy before Lori Gruen's talk in one week.
