Bummer

Out of the blue, J’s local best buddy is moving four hours away. His wife has accepted a really excellent-sounding job, so, off they go, after 10 years here. We are bummed – we didn’t even know she’d quit her local job until our party last week, when we learned that her employer had for too long been expecting full-time work on half-time pay without benefits. So... exciting for her, but something of a shock to us. We’d expected to have them here as part of our lives for years to come.
