Avoiding the cones of shame

Today was neutering day for my cat-babies. I took them to the vet at 8 a.m. and got to retrieve them at 4 p.m. They share the same carrier box and curl up together for comfort; it seems much nicer for them than for the cats who are in boxes individually.

So we got home, and all they would do was lick lick lick! Verboten! So I walked back to the vet’s office and acquired fabric versions of the cone of shame. Fortunately, by the time I got home again they’d become interested in their box-caves and toys and snuggly humans again, and they are still cone-free.
