State solo again?

It turns out that D. did qualify for the state solo competition in clarinet again! He didn't win district, but he came in second and did well enough to get to go. Assuming his teacher can convince him, that is. He doesn't like playing this particular piece, as he runs out of breath by the end. But, if he's only going to play clarinet for three more months, he may as well spend two of them getting ready for the state championship, no?
