An impromptu party

Today's highlight was probably the last-minute birthday party thrown by/for one of my book club friends, at a sidewalk cafe in our neighborhood that used to be a casual high-end wine shop but now is mostly a marijuana shop. I met an interesting woman whose job involves getting people into college who might not otherwise have taken that path.

Well, really, the highlight was the crazy nonsense draft deck we watched LSV stream this evening, with a wild thopter-generating combo. People will be watching the resulting video for years to come.

Oh, and another highlight was talking to a program officer at the National Cancer Institute, who said the proposal I'm sending her next week "sounds exciting, actually."

So I guess, all in all, it was a fine day.
