A new school year
G. held his first lab group meeting of the new year, and introduced us to the name he's just coined for his lab: Cultural and Moral Personology Lab, or CaMP. I half-suspect he planned the whole thing so he could ask us at the end of the meeting whether we were all "happy campers."
I'm not entirely sold on "personology" as a word, though he says there's a substantial number of psychologists using it. The main point is to keep his emphasis on personality and individual differences, rather than the usual cultural psych approach of universalizing generalities.
