Frazzlement, and the perfect remedy
Jun. 2nd, 2011 11:22 pmToday was an unusually stressful day, especially because one of my (much more senior) colleagues raised major concerns with the proposal that supposedly I’m submitting tomorrow or Monday, and it took hours worth of e-mails before we realized that he hadn’t see the latest version, which did in fact address all of his concerns. So that’s okay now.
Also, we had the “end of the school” ceremonies for D’s wonderful elementary school, which has fallen to the budget axe. An emotional event! I got to talk with Anne P, my favorite of D’s teachers, from first grade, who had retired after that year.
A great way to end the day, though: Mad Libs with D, when he decided that we needed to act out our responses, like Charades. And when his responses were things like “elephants with bazookas” and “mariachi band,” it got pretty interesting. If I was really stumped, then he’d point at video game box spines so that I could see the individual letters. That’s how, for “music video,” I found myself guessing, “dancing mudblood.” Ha!
