(Posters or not, I admit I do like looking at the data)

Another pretty day, but I was inside reacquainting myself with SPSS. Trying to do what I want by using the menu takes so much time that I'd probably be better off in the long run by learning the syntax version. (We're making posters for the SRNT conference in Prague. Oops! Good thing I just looked at that; we didn't know they were supposed to be vertical!)

Here's a nice deep ecology bibliography.

So, tomorrow I should balance things out and spend part of the day outside, no?

From Thomas Merton:

"Yesterday Fr. Anthony and I went out and blessed the fields, starting with the wheat and oats and coming around by St. Bernard's field and Aiden Nally's and across to the bottoms. Out in the calf pasture we blessed some calves who came running up and took a very active interest in everything. Then we blessed pigs, who took some interest at first. The sheep showed not concern and the chickens ran away as soon as we approached. The rabbits stayed quiet until we threw holy water at them and then they all jumped."

(I confess, this made me think of Castlevania...)
